HOLSTEIN
New Release Sire – New Release SEXED SEMEN sire Sandy-Valley CANDYMAN ET TV TL is sired by Sildahl BW Dutch Boy ET EX90 from a superb cow family. He offers high type at +2.23 with over +1772 Lbs of milk. The foundation dam behind SVCANDYMAN is Ricecrest Southwind Kaye ET CV VG87 who is one of the world’s most successful brood cows and is the dam of Marshall, Brett, Lantz and grand dam of Bolton.
Other Highlights - TREGIBBY daughters are calving in all over the world at present and keeping up the high standard of his first daughters. Tregibby TG Linda VG88 has being nominated for an ALL Britain award, one of the only daughters of a young bull to be nominated. Also the first daughter has calved out the second time and went from VG85 to VG88; she tested over 10,000 litres 4.3%F and 3.15%P.
Ross Powell from Learmonth said he is milking two daughters sired by KINDOR who are classified VG85 & VG87. He said that they are great cows to work with; they have great milking speed and temperament. PEGASE daughters are also in milk at Lyn and Lance Greenwood’s at Learmonth. Lyn could not speak highly enough of these heifers. One had a PI of 117 and was milking at 40 litres daily. All heifers were doing 30+ litres and all P.I’s were 5-10 points higher then their dams. Superb reports on ALANDONOR daughters, they have good udders, excellent muzzle width, chest width, foot angle and will make great commercial cows.
Sale Results - Fraser’s Foundation Sale was a great success with three PVPOLICY daughters selling for an average of $9,166 with the top price daughter Fraser Policy Wondergirl VG85 selling for $10,000. Fraser Sam Perfection EX90 1E – Dam of new Agri-Gene progeny test sire Fraser Perflex was the top-priced animal which sold for $22,000. Clinton Park Holstein Sale – Second top price was Clinton Park Besn Jill, sired by JOCKO which sold for $3900. Numbaa Park Sale -Top Price was Boscawen Gandalf Bell sired by Auldreekie Donor GANDALF which sold for $7,200. The December calved heifer had produced 49 litres on her second herd test. Another standout lot for the sale was a daughter sired by Tantist which sold for $4,200. She was producing 45 Litres daily.
JERSEY
Other Highlights - SPIRITUAL daughters continue to impress for their high P.I’s & consistent classification with one daughter recently classified at Miami Jerseys for 87 Pts. She has an excellent frame and deep rib as well as a high, wide rear udder attachment. At Riverside Jerseys their top PI heifer in the herd is sired by Spiritual at 117 & classified 86 Pts. Two other daughters in the herd are 86 Pts with a PI of 108 and 87 Pts with a PI of 104. Spiritual’s dam Riverside Berretta Sharna 742 ET SUP92 EX5 has a current PI of 130.
Sale Results - Huronia Centurion Veronica 20J EX95, dam of Gold Label Sires EDVERDICT, SDVALIANT & GOLDVOLT has been nominated for the All Breed Access Brood Cow Contest. Now with over 65 offspring in the US, 3 Supreme Championships, 8 Grand Championships and all daughters have classified VG as 2 year olds and 5 daughters have classified EX. Be sure to use these three elite sires in your breeding program.
Northern Lights Jersey Sale - 10 x doses of LESTER SAMBO sold for $360 per straw, making it the highest priced semen sold. 5 x doses of BW LEGION sold for $240. Two embryo packages sold from the Silent Auction, 5 x embryos from Nowell Power Sandy sired by BW SPECIAL FORCES which sold for $500 per embryo. A late rush of bidding saw the pick of the flush from Kaarmona Parade Babe 3 sired by BW Legion which topped the sale at $10,000.
Willow Downs Jersey Dispersal – The Top priced animals were sired by BELLES JADE. Top price was Willow Downs Ivette 2nd VHC which sold for $4,750, 2nd top price was Willow Downs Duchess 9th VHC which sold for $3,200, 3rd top price was Willow Downs Cinders which sold for $2,000. The top priced bull of the sale was Willow Downs Bright Jade which sold for $3,200.
Toowoomba Royal Show saw the success of two Lester Sambo daughters occupying the Champion & Reserve Champion cow placings. Champion cow was awarded to Brunchilli S Eileen and Reserve Champion went to Ascot Park Sambos Elaine. Junior Champion was awarded to Ardylbar B Jade Emmee sired by Belles Jade.
AYRSHIRE
New Release Sire - Ardmore Crown NAPIER is a Triple Crown son from the UK out of McCornick Nelson’s full sister – McCornick Nepeta 3 EX93. First calved daughters in the UK have projected to average over 8,000 Kgs with high fat & protein %. There has been worldwide interest for both pure breeding & outcross use. Ayrshire Fanfare Sale – An outstanding TRIDENT daughter was amongst the top priced animals sold, going under the hammer for $3600.

Showring and Sale Highlights - With the autumn bull sales now completed progeny of Agri-Gene semen sires have excelled Australia wide. The top priced bull at the Lawson’s Angus sale was a son of GAR YIELD GRADE who sold for $20,000. Second top price of $14,000 was paid for a son of GAR Predestined. Third & Fourth top priced animals were also sons of GAR Yield Grade. At the Reiland Sale a son of the popular sire Rito 2V1 also topped this years offering.
At the Sydney Royal Easter Show a daughter of BT Right Time 24J – Banquet Kite A197 sold for $38,000 to Steven Hanbury of Anvil Angus. This gives Right Time 24J the high selling female and male progeny in Australia over the last 2 years with a son selling for $42,000 at the Ardrossan Sale. In the showring at Sydney Agri-Gene progeny also stood out with a New Frontier son from Pine Creek Angus taking out the Supreme Exhibit honors and a new sire to this years EDGE line-up taking out the Junior Championship – MT. HUNTER BLACK BEARD – Semen available in the EDGE program from July .
